Brit & Amanda Gettin' Silly on VH1!

Click Here to watch Episode 1: "Ten dancers compete via webcam for a $5000 prize! Watch the premiere episode of Dance Cam Slam."

After a long process of skype auditioning, sound checks and skype sessions with the producers of VH1's "Dance Cam Slam," Amanda Shorez and I were booked for the premiere of the show! I was on the commercial that aired on VH1 to promote the show, and I laughed at how ridiculous I looked, every time it came on. It didnt take much talent, just a willingness to be fun and silly- which is exactly what I've been needing to do lately. Of course, we had to bring the princesses to the show- Belle and Sleeping Beauty worked it for the camera. Amanda was the perfect partner. She belongs on SNL, and does some really funny things. Unfortunately we didn't make it to Round 2, where we were planning on bringing out the old school rap attire, complete with gold chains, a big boom box and over sized high-top sneakers (yes, while still wearing our princess dresses). We had a great time putting everything together and the best part was, we filmed the show from my house in Alpine, CA. We were snacking during the down time and hanging out at the house! To watch the video, click on the link. It will take you straight to the show on VH1's website. You can even link to my twitter from their site!

HP Computers- ROI Commercial

This HP Commercial granted me membership with SAG. It was an all-day shoot in Livemore, CA, back in July. It was a lot of fun and I even saw some familiar faces from the Hawk Nelson Music Video shoot a year ago!

Featured Swimwear girl for Playboy's Beach House

What a fun and crazy day! Friday, September 24th, I was cast as a featured swimsuit girl for a show called "Playboy Beachouse!" I drove all the way up to Malibu for this booking. We parked down at Zuma Beach and the shuttled us to the top of the hill to the location. When we got there, the view alone was breath-taking. They kept us in a holding area to finish hair and makeup and get ready for the show. When they brought us on set, we found ourselves on a pool deck that was transformed into a Vegas-style beach club. There were lounges, a hot tub, a shower/stripper pole, an electric surfboard (that resembled an electronic bull) and lots of fun! I have to say, it was a little edgier than most projects I do, since half the girls were hired as topless or nude models. I was just glad that I was only required to wear a swimsuit and have fun.

The best part of the day? Lil' John hung out with us and even performed a few songs. Not to mention LMFAO! They were a fun group of guys and lil' john was just hilarious. He tried pushing me in the pool, but the girls teamed up on him and pushed him in with his wallet, jewelry and phone on him. yikes! He wasn't mad, but I think he thought I was strange, because I wouldn't take his shot. In the footage, I am dancing with him and having a great time. I am excited to see it all edited, and I am hoping the show will help me to get a job in a music video.

Malibu was definitely a lot of fun. I could do that every day... minus the naked girls. haha. Check out the pics- I had to sneak them in during breaks.

Brittany at the MTV VMA's

Every time I get a new and amazing opportunity, I say "this is the coolest thing Ive done so far," things just keep getting more and more exciting. But, I have to say that THIS IS the best thing Ive done so far. I have watched the VMAs since I was a little girl, and I have always wanted to be a part of that world. Music and Videos are my passion and on September 12th, I was invited to the MTV Video Music Awards, one of the most exclusive and exciting award shows out there. When I walked into the Nokia theater, the music and awe-inspiring stage took my breath away. To top it all off, they sat me in the front row, on the right side of the stage. I couldnt believe it, especially when I saw that the Jersey Shore was sitting behind me. So crazy... I am not sure why I got to set in the front row and the celebs were behind me, but it was awesome. My guess is they wanted all of the girls and energy right by the stage. Anyway, I was definitely not complaining! The performances were amazing and surprisingly, Eminem was my favorite. There was so much energy in the theater when he came out and he was performing right in front of me. So insane! I also loved Justin Bieber, I was so tempted to leave my seat and go outside for his performance, but I got to see him accept his award for Best New Artist- well deserved! My other favorites were Katy Perry and Selena Gomez from the Disney Channel. I saw everyone, since they had to pass by my seat to get to theirs. I even saw and gave a high five to Ron Artest from the Los Angeles Lakers. I couldnt help but think about an old friend that would have loved that.

Needless to say, I did not want the night to end. I would say it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but I think I might be going next year too! Crossing my fingers. As for the after-party, we hung out with the MTV producers and the Real World cast (Chet- the mormon guy on the real world was my fav). Ron Jeremy was there too, but that was just scary. I didnt have my camera inside the venue, but check out some of the pics I took in the holding area and afterwards. My dress was from Cache' and custom altered to be a whole new dress by my seamstress here in San Diego:

Brittany Seen on Comedy Central's Roast of David Hasselhoff

I am beginning to think the Hoff and I are meant to be, after working with him for 2 week straight on separate jobs. haha.
A few weeks ago, I was booked as a feature on the Roast of David Hasselhoff on Comedy Central! Basically, there were 15 girls strategically placed around the set/audience, so the camera could get our reactions to the show. They didnt air many of the girls reactions, but they did air mine! I can be seen during the Gilbert Gottfried set.
It was so much fun being there with so many fun people in the industry I sat next to Craig Robinson (Derryl from 'The Office' & Hot Tub Time Machine) for part of the show and Krista Allen & Gena Lee Nolin (Baywatch babes) for the last portion.
Since the show, I have also been invited to be a part of NBC's the sing-off, among others. I am looking forward to the next season of America's Best Dance Crew, since the same agency will book me for that, as well. I will get to sit right behind the judges, smile and enjoy the show!

Invited to be a SAG member!

The other day, I received a letter from Screen Actor's Guild, inviting me to be a part of the prestigious actor's union! This is a pivotal moment in any actor's career. There are only 100,000 members in the world and every known actor in a movie, commercial or industry project is SAG. To be invited you must be an extra in SAG project 3 times, or a principal actor in a movie or commercial, once.

After filming the HP commercial as a principal actor, I was eligible to join the union. SAG actors get paid twice as much as non-union actors, have special food and amenities on-set and are able to make a career out of acting. This is my goal, and SAG brings me one step closer to achieving it!

Some people work in the industry their whole lives and never get invited to be SAG, I just feel so blessed that everything has fallen in to place so far in my career. Thank you to all of you who support me!

Comic-Con 2010 is a HIT for Princess Encounters!

I was welcomed with open arms and camera lenses at San Diego Comic Con 2010! I appeared as Sleeping Beauty, to promote my company, http://www.princessencounter.com/.

Since the close of Comic Con, I have received countless pictures, emails and website links to people who loved Princess Aroura! I was so pleased to see the CoolJerk.com said "Here’s another example of cosplay done right! Meet Brittany Skipper. That day she was Sleeping Beauty, but I know she’s also cosplayed most of Disney’s stable of princesses (Belle, Ariel, Tinkerbell, Alice, Cinderella, Snow White, among others). And it’s kind of refreshing to see costuming done completely devoid of the perv/skank quotient. Bravo, Brittany!"

It is great to hear that all of the hard work and investment into these couture costumes is truly paying off and getting a wonderful response from parents, kids and fans of cosplay!

David Hasselhoff Event outside Comic-Con SD

I had the opportunity to be a part of the Hasselhoff's TV show promo in Downtown San Diego as part of Comic Con 2010. I rode in a KIT car, escorting a giant tour bus that featured "The Hoff" on top! His Daughters, including Hayley(pictured below), were also featured in the performance. We rounded the block around 6th and Jst, creating and "unauthorized parade," as SDPD called it. There was singing, dancing, Bay Watch girls and a huge crowd following us. It was a great chance to network with some awesome people. There was no better way to kick off a fabulous weekend at Comic-Con than with the Hasselhoff family!

HP Web Banner/ Commercial

HP Commercial: 6/21/2010

I just finished up a web banner/commercial for the internet through Hewlett Packard. They hired me as a model for a funny video, where I play a “flirty girl.” They had me and 4 other “flirty girls” standing on a “skateboard dolly” and they rolled us across the screen, behind a super cool rock star guy that we were all admiring. We had to blow kisses, flip our hair… you know, stuff that takes lots of talent.

I will post a link to the ad, as soon as I get it!

SUBWAY Commercial on TNT

6/19/2010

My wonderful agent, Sherrie booked a commercial for Subway, to be aired on TNT during the Daytona 500. It is also very likely that they will continue to air the commercial as their official sponsor spot on TNT. I booked the role of the Victory Lane girl.
Our call-time was 4:30am at the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA. I stayed in a hotel in Fairfield to avoid a 1.5 hr drive, and woke up feeling refreshed at 4am! When we got to the raceway, they gave us credentials for the garage and pits, which would have been awesome if I knew anything about Nascar racers.
We drew lots of attention during filming, and met plenty of crazy Nascar fans who wanted to take pictures with us. It was a great day and I even ended up working that night for Scion & Toyota, after the marketing manager spotted me leaving the parking lot. I got to drive around in the Scion car and hand out prizes to fans. It was a pretty awesome job.

Miami Promo Flyer

Sometimes when you do a shoot, you never know where the pics will end up. In this case, this flyer was found features some of the pictures from last year's RIDES shoot.

LA Trip

MUSIC VIDEO cheerleader audition LA & Garment District Trip:

I don’t always post my auditions unless, they are unique or special, but this was my first LA acting audition, so it has to be documented. J I was called as one of 7 girls to audition for a Punk-Rock music video in LA, playing the part of the head cheerleader/love interest. I wore my Mom’s vintage cheer skirt and sweater and they loved it! I was almost sure I would be getting a call back just based on how much they loved the uniform. I had to walk toward the camera, do a little acting and take pictures with the lead singer. I had a great time and headed off the garment district afterwards!
In the garment district, I shopped for fabrics for my new princess company, in San Diego. I have decided to make all of my gowns Disneyland-quality, couture costumes. They will be spectacular and I can’t wait for everyone to see them! I have shopped in San Diego, LA and San Francisco, making sure I find just the right fabrics and accessories. This entertainment company will set a standard in Southern California and I can’t wait to reveal all the details soon!

Microsoft KIN Promo

KIN Promo: 6/13/2010

Microsoft has a new phone called the KIN, and I got to represent the product in San Diego, giving away 60 phones over 3 days at the San Diego County Fair. It was a great chance to brush up on my speaking and marketing skills and I even brought my sister along to be part of the Microsoft team. There are lots of fun pictures, check them out!

Opportunity of a Lifetime!

FEMALE POP GROUP AUDITION FOR LARRY RUDOLF 4/30/2010

Larry Rudolf after the audition

Amanda Shorez, Krystal Forscutt & I

This experience was one of the most nerve-wrecking, amazing, motivating, experiences I have had yet! 2,000 girls submitted pictures and vocal samples online to Reigndeer Entertainment, hoping to get an audition for Larry Rudolf’s (Britney Spears’ manager) new pop group. He chose 100 girls to come to LA for the audition. It was at a dance studio in Beverly Hills and all of the girls were dressed to impress, like pop stars/lady gaga/Beyonce. They went all out, and some were wearing a 1 piece swimsuit.
He explained to us that he is looking for a very specific look and sound for a group of 3 girls. As I heard some of the girls warming up down the hall, they sounded like Mariah Carey and I started getting a little nervous. I soon learned that many of the girls had flown in from all over the world; Australia, New York, South Africa, etc. Many were even celebrities or pop stars back at home and were hoping to break into the US market. (ie: Krystal Forscutt, Kanye West’s dream girl)
He eliminated 50 girls in 2 cuts, purely based on look. He let me and the remaining half of the girls audition with our prepared song and dance. I went in there and gave it my all, working the acoustics in that little dance studio. My voice surprised me and I felt like I did the best I could with the 1-week rehearsal time I had. I was one of the last girls to audition and get cut, and when I left there were 15 girls still there and he kept 7 from the final round. From what I hear, he didn’t create a group that day, but kept the video of all of our auditions. It was amazing to be so close to a dream that I never imagined could possibly be a reality. It has given me so much confidence and motivation that I have the look he wanted and that he could see me in the Pop world. I will definitely always remember this!

Countryman Associates: 3/25/2010

I recently shot and ad and video for Countryman Assoc. located in Menlo Park, CA. They make earpieces for news anchors, musicians, sports anchors, etc. I modeled their newest ear sets, and did an instructional video on how to use the product. The pictures are used as large backdrops for trade shows and can be seen on their website. The video is a demonstration for clients.

Angels Shoot with SHINE Photographer

Halloween Shoot- October 2009
My sister and I teamed up for a creative couture shoot with Shine Photography. Hair and makeup was insane! I tried to put in the sci-fi contacts they provided, but my eyeballs weren't having it, so we had to go without. However, my sisters contacts looked awesomely creepy. Check out the results...

RIDES Magazine Shoot

RIDES Magazine made me one of 3 girls to be featured as one of the first women in their Magazine. The publication's focus is never on girls, but always on cars. So, I feel flattered that they wanted to use my pics on their site and in the Magazine. Here are a couple shots from Rides photographer, Andrew Link.

TOP 1 Oil 2010 Calendar- Miss November

November 2009

I was invited to shoot an international calendar for TOP1 OIL. They made me Miss November and the best part was, this calendar was very conservative and no bikinis were required! Check it out...

NBC's TRAUMA- Brit's Primetime Debut!

I played a featured extra role on NBC Trauma’s Halloween episode. It was filmed in San Francisco, partially in the Castro area and also at the Marina. I played a drunken cat at a Halloween party, which was a little out of my element, but still lots of fun. There were 50 extras there, and hand-picked me to be the featured role, the only one there who hadn’t been cast beforehand. So, I guess it was a little bit of a bump up, which was great. The main actors referred to me in the scene and it ended up being very fast on camera, but great for my reel.

Del Sol Clothing & Carriloha Clothing Campaign

October 2009

Shooting this print campaign with an amazing photographer and friend, Justin Grant was so fun and rewarding. The location was Paradise Island, Bahamas! We got to spend time on the beach, and at the Atlantis resort, having fun and shooting great pictures for Del Sol and Carriloha. Ryan and I stayed for a few days after to enjoy the Bahamas. What an amazing booking. I feel so blessed!
